Multi plane value separation is a process that I developed in the year 1999.

It's purpose is to show people the importance of proper value placement.

The piece consists of five planes.

The first is solid white. The second holds painted light gray shapes. The next plane holds darker shades.

Until from directly in front of the piece a full range of values blend to form the distinct image of a young boys face.

This 18" tall sculpture is completely constructed from pine wood and steel wire.

The skull was polished for eight hours and every bone is hand carved.  

The only exception is the heart which is a red gear.

The point is no matter how beautiful or refined you are, life is meaningless unless the heart is visible and a focal point to the world.  

People should see Jesus through us.
